The Business and Finance Division provides accounting and business services for the Demopolis City Schools system. It is responsible for financial statements, budgeting, accounts payable, and overseeing payroll and fixed assets. The Business Office also provides all financial information to the school board, the superintendent, and the State Department of Education.

The Business and Finance Department of Demopolis City Schools provides accounting and business services to ensure proper fiscal management and accountability of the local, state, and federal funding received by the school system. Monthly and annual financial reporting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles is a tool used to inform the public of the proper utilization of our fiscal resources. The Business and Finance Department is responsible for financial administration and reporting, budget preparation and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, purchasing, payroll and employee benefits, and fixed asset management. All financial information as required by the State Department of Education is made available to the school board, the superintendent, the public, and the State Department of Education. Annual audits are performed by the State of Alabama Department of Examiners of Public Accounts. Audit reports are available at the Central Office.
