Demopolis High School's academic program, extracurricular activities, and community involvement have established a school with a great reputation throughout the state of Alabama. We are proud of the efforts and accomplishments of our students, parents, teachers, administrators, staff and community leaders. A high quality education is one of the most important things that we can provide a child. Exposure to a variety of topics, people, and activities contributes to a fulfilling school experience. This website is a terrific way to access information you need about our school, as well as serving as an educational resource. Whether you are currently enrolled or just curious about what we have to offer, you will find a wealth of information.
DRESS FOR SUCCESS DONATIONS
DRESS FOR SUCCESS is a new program at Demopolis High School. As part of the Gear Up Alabama program, the DHS faculty is teaching students how to dress appropriately for a job interview. After discussing guidelines and modeling appropriate clothing and grooming during an assembly, the faculty asked all students in grades 9-12 to practice professional dress on September 21, 2106.
A great number of students participated in the first DRESS FOR SUCCESS day! Due to lack of availability of clothing in local stores AND a lack of funds to spend on clothing, many students did not own appropriate clothing or shoes. We believe many more students would participate IF they had proper clothing available to them.
To help students acquire proper professional dress items, we are opening a “Professional Dress Closet” at DHS. Clothing from this closest will be loaned or given to students who make requests. We need the help of the community to stock this closet with the items listed below! Please keep us in mind when you are cleaning out your closets, basements, or attics in the upcoming months.
We need clothing in ALL sizes for young men and young women.
Professional dresses or skirts
Dress shirts or blouses
