It's CTE Month! Check out this Spotlight on CTE student, Trynnady Aldridge!

Trynnady Aldridge, a junior at Demopolis High School, has an exciting week ahead of her this Spring. She was selected to participate in Disney Dreamers’ Academy from April 3rd to April 7th, 2024. Each year, 100 exceptional young people arrive at the Disney Dreamers Academy with ambition, excitement, and hopes for the future. Four days later, they return home with the motivation, guidance, and skills to help make those dreams come true. The Academy receives thousands of applications from across the nation, but only accepts 100 students. Five of the attributes they look for are Intellectual curiosity – a love for learning and creativity; Compassion – caring for those around you; Courage – facing obstacles with poise and maturity; A positive outlook and a generous spirit; and Optimism about the future. Trynnady possesses all of these qualities; just ask her teachers and fellow students!

Trynnady is currently enrolled in the Marketing CTE pathway which led to her applying for the academy. She visited Disney with Marketing teacher Courtney Kerby for a competition and saw an ad. She applied in July and received an acceptance letter in December. Disney released the Class of 2024 participants on their social media as well as showcased them on Good Morning America and on a Times Square Billboard in January.

Trynnady has used the skills learned at DHS to thrive in all aspects of her life. Her career goals include becoming a pastry chef, but she knows that her marketing experience and the skills she will gain by attending the Disney Dreamers’ Academy will help her achieve her DREAMS! DHS is proud of you and can’t wait to see your DREAMS come true!!!
