Principal Appreciation Month

Demopolis City Schools is honored to recognize our accomplished high school principal, Terina Gantt. With a journey that encompasses diverse roles, from college volleyball coach at Faulkner and Huntingdon to science and gifted teacher, assistant principal and her current role, Mrs. Gantt brings a wealth of experience to the success of Demopolis High School’s climate, faculty, and student body, fostering an atmosphere of support, inspiration, and inclusivity.

Gantt, originally from Jasper, is married to Jack Gantt, coach and STEM teacher at Demopolis Middle School. They lived in Tallassee for twenty plus years before moving to Demopolis with their two sons, Jackson and Joseph. Living in Demopolis gives the small town, family atmosphere that her family loves. “I see the people are 100% invested in the students and school system; that equals success for all.”  - Gantt

“Mrs. Gantt has taken the past four years and guided Demopolis High School towards steady improvement in so many areas.  Her dedication and passion for working tirelessly to make sure the school is always improving is paying dividends. In almost every metric, the school is improving, and that takes an entire community to make it happen, but it relies heavily on the leadership to initiate it and see it through. For that we are so thankful to have her here and hope that she can keep DHS on the great path on which she has led them thus far. “ - Superintendent Tony Willis

DCS is so thankful for DHS principal Terina Gantt, who embodies dedication, innovation, and a deep commitment to our school community.
