Last but certainly not least, DCS will spotlight Westside’s counselor Leslie May. Mrs. May has been in education for a total of 21 years. She has been a counselor for fourteen. Mrs. May became a counselor because she saw a need and wanted to make a change. She wants to give her students the opportunity to not only explore colleges but industry as well. Mrs. May helps all students realize their own potential and then helps them set goals to reach them. Her favorite part of counseling is the daily interaction with students. She loves to watch them grow and flourish from Pre-k/Kindergarten to 2nd grade leaders. She says, “it truly makes my heart full. I love their honesty, innocence and their love for learning!”
