DCS Families, February is Career and Technical Education Month and DHS would like to invite you to the CTE Open House! Come see programs designed to prepare students for careers, certifications, and college pathways—beyond the traditional academic classroom. Families and students will tour labs, see hands-on learning in action, and meet CTE instructors who connect classroom learning to real careers.

CTE Spotlight!!
CTE Month Breakfast. JROTC, JAG, Health Science, Marketing, Computer Science, and the Career Coach wanted to thank everyone for all they do to support CTE students and programs.
Demopolis High School will dismiss Friday, February 6 at 12:00pm in order for students and staff to be able to attend the services for Hunter Howell. Visitation will be held at First Methodist Church of Demopolis on Friday, February 6, 2026 from 12:30 pm until the 2:00 pm service time. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Demopolis, Alabama.
Demopolis High School is heartbroken to experience another tragic loss within our school community. We are deeply saddened by the passing of one of our students, Hunter Howell, who was killed in a car accident early this morning.
We extend our deepest sympathy to Hunter’s family, friends, and all who are grieving this unimaginable loss. Please keep Hunter’s loved ones and our school community in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
Counselors and support staff will be available next week to provide comfort and support to students and faculty as we grieve together and navigate this time.
Flags will be flying at half staff beginning Monday to honor Hunter.

Demopolis High School has proudly been recognized as an *Alabama Semiquincentennial School*, meeting the distinguished criteria set forth by the USA Semiquincentennial Commission and the American Village. In celebration of the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States’ Declaration of Independence, the school has demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting and promoting a variety of programs and events that educate, engage, and unite Alabamians around the founding principles of our nation. As a symbol of this honor, the school received a commemorative banner. Pictured with the banner are Mr. Mike Duran and his 5th period History Class, representing the spirit of civic engagement and historical appreciation that earned Demopolis High this recognition.
