Demopolis High School students have officially begun work on the Tiger Court Murals! During the fall grant cycle, Mrs. Mayben’s visual art classes were awarded funding from the Demopolis City Schools Foundation to bring this exciting project to life. Former DHS student and mural artist Banks Compton designed a dual mural that will be painted with the help of our students in the Tiger Court area.
After receiving the designs, students got to work preparing the space by applying a white base coat followed by a vibrant blue background. They have also started creating a doodle grid—a technique commonly used by muralists—to help guide the final drawing when Banks returns to campus.
The mural process will take several weeks so here's a sneak peek at our students as they lay the foundation for these incredible murals! We can't wait to show you the final product!
DHS is kicking off Autism Awareness Month in a meaningful and creative way! 💙🌸
Our talented art students designed and created beautiful flowers featuring inclusive and uplifting words, while our Education & Training class partnered with our exceptional students from Mrs. Davis' class to bring the bulletin board to life.
This collaborative project highlights the power of inclusion, creativity, and teamwork—celebrating the uniqueness of every individual in our school community. 💙 #AutismAwarenessMonth #DHSpride
