"Education is the movement from darkness to light." Let’s keep that light shining bright in Demopolis, one bag of popcorn at a time.

The window to establish a fishing team and a clay shooting team opens in the fall. We plan to launch both teams at the beginning of the 2026–2027 school year. We apologize that we were not able to start this process earlier. We will share detailed information with everyone at the start of school in August.

Demopolis City Schools will have a Teacher Professional Development Day on March 6, 2026.
Students will not report to school on this day.
Our faculty and staff will be engaged in meaningful professional learning focused on strengthening instruction, enhancing student support, and continuing our commitment to academic excellence across all campuses.
Students will return to school on Monday, March 9, 2026.
Thank you for your continued support of Demopolis City Schools as we invest in growing our educators to better serve every student! 💙🖤🤍

Ms. Davis’ class had a special visitor this week! Mrs. Tarpley, our DHS Librarian, stopped by for a fun-filled “Pete the Cat” storytime. Students enjoyed listening to *Pete the Cat: Rocking My School Shoes* and *Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes*. After the stories, the class played “Pin the White Shoes on Pete,” sang “Skinnamarink,” and shared lots of smiles and laughter. It was a groovy day full of reading, music, and fun! 🐾📚
