These classes are offered at no cost to Alabama residents. The ACT exam, which most Alabama juniors will take for free at their schools, is a critical component of the college admissions process. A higher ACT score can result in better college admissions and scholarship outcomes.
The Alabama School of Mathematics and Science is a residential STEM high school located in Mobile, Alabama. Since 1989, it has enrolled hardworking, motivated students from all 67 counties, giving them access to over 200 unique college-level classes. Tuition, room, and board are free at ASMS. Learn more about ASMS at www.asms.net.
Through this ACT prep program, ASMS hopes to serve the state. Seats are limited, though, so applicants should apply before the 1/20 deadline.

Thank you to DCS Career Coach Mrs. Jill Tutt, for your dedication to guiding students toward meaningful careers, postsecondary opportunities, and bright futures. Your commitment, encouragement, and passion leave an impact on our students and community. Thank you for all you do.

Parents, please fill out this mid-year parent survey. This survey will be compared to the survey results from the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year. The results of the surveys will be used so we will know what practices should continue and what practices need modifications.

Demopolis High School is heartbroken by the devastating loss of one of our junior class students, Braleigh Busbee, who tragically passed away in a car accident last night. We extend our deepest condolences to Braleigh’s family, friends, and all those affected by this unimaginable loss.
Please keep our school community in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
We also ask for continued prayers and healing for the other student involved, Zackery Tucker, who is currently hospitalized.
Counselors and support staff will be available to assist students and faculty as we navigate this profound loss together.

Students are to report to the auditorium Wednesday, Thursday and Friday during your dual enrollment period.

Off Campus Dual Enrollment Policy for Students
1. You must return a permission form signed by your parents in order to leave campus.
2. If you have 3 unexcused tardies returning to a DHS class or miss DHS classes without a written excuse (see DCS Attendance Manual: students are allowed five (5) parent excuses per school year), you will be required to return to DHS campus all day for the remainder of the semester.
3. If you are FAILING a dual enrollment course or FALLING BEHIND in a dual enrollment course, you will be required to return to DHS campus all day.
We have dual enrollment classes here on campus for all 7 periods, so placing students in a classroom during the day is not a problem.
