Happy National Principals Month!
Demopolis City Schools is blessed to have principals at each school that lead by example, are dedicated to excellence, and committed to our students! We appreciate all you do!

Friday, Oct. 9, students will not report to school while faculty and staff have a professional development day.
Oct. 12-13 is FALL BREAK!
School will be back in session Wednesday, Oct. 14.
Enjoy your break!

There is currently a water leak in the main building at Demopolis Middle School. As a result, sack lunches will be served today.
Parents who would like to bring lunch for their student may do so. Lunches do not have to be in a separate container if they are being delivered from a local restaurant. Please make sure your child’s name is clearly written on the bag or container.
A table will be set up in the front office for lunch drop-offs.
Restrooms and running water are available in the other buildings. All other normal school operations will continue as scheduled.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we address this issue.

Fall break is just around the corner!!!
Teachers will be at school, Friday, Oct 9 for a Professional Development Day.
There will be no students on campuses Friday.
Students will return Wednesday, Oct. 14.
Enjoy this time with your families!

Demopolis City Schools Families,
Alabama’s RAISE (Renewing Alabama’s Investment in Student Excellence) Act, signed into law on May 5, 2025, modernizes the state’s school funding formula by providing additional funding based on students’ individual needs.
The RAISE Act provided $166 million in additional funding for the 2025–2026 school year and will provide at least $549 million over three years. These funds can support resources such as reading intervention, academic support, after-school and summer programs, and other initiatives designed to improve student success.
As part of the RAISE Act, the State is seeking family feedback to help identify opportunities to reduce administrative burdens, improve efficiency, and better support our schools and students.
Please take a few minutes to complete the survey by Friday, September 25. Responses are confidential and will be reported in aggregate only.

The Demopolis City Board of Education will hold its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, September 21, 2026, at 5:15 p.m. at the Central Office in Demopolis, Alabama.

Today, at DCS, we remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the heroes who stepped forward in a time of unimaginable tragedy.
We also remember how, in the days that followed, people of every culture, background, faith, and race came together—not as strangers, but as one nation united by compassion, courage, and hope.
May we never forget the strength found in standing together, helping one another, and choosing unity over division.

Today, we celebrate Labor Day and recognize the hard work, dedication, and contributions of workers who help make our schools, community, and country stronger.

Monday, September 7 — Schools & offices are CLOSED in observance of Labor Day.

We hope everyone enjoys the long weekend, gets some rest, and comes back ready for another great week of learning!

At Demopolis City Schools, we know that every school day matters and every minute counts.
When students are in school consistently, they have more opportunities to:
✅ Learn new skills and master important concepts
✅ Build strong relationships with teachers and classmates
✅ Participate in activities, athletics, clubs, and special events
✅ Stay on track academically
✅ Build habits that lead to success beyond high school
Missing just a few days here and there can add up quickly and make it harder for students to keep up. Good attendance isn't just about being present—it’s about being part of the learning, growing, and Tiger community every day.
Parents, students, teachers, and our entire community all play an important role in making attendance a priority.
Show up. Get involved. Stay on track. Succeed!
Every Day Counts at Demopolis City Schools!
