We can't wait to welcome our students back tomorrow! Teachers have spent the day analyzing data and planning instruction for the 2nd semester!!

We will continue the good work!!

The USJ Beta club would like to thank everyone who donated items to the Bigbee Humane Shelter. The doggies will be well fed and taken care of over the Christmas holidays!

We may be one day away from break but there's still a lot of learning going on. Mrs. Carroll's class studied writing, grammar, and comprehension reading review, multiplication and addition review, and art stations in their class today.

Fun was had by all at the USJ Christmas parties today!! Good food and good friends! Remember, school dismisses at 11:30 tomorrow and students return on January 3rd!

The Grinch, his dog Max, and Cindy Lou Who greeted students at drop off this morning! "Coach Grinch" kept trying to steal the goodies and presents from the children so Resource Officer Dailey had to detain him for a bit!

Our 3rd graders got everyone in the Christmas spirit during their program today! Great job boys and girls!

Congratulations to our 5th grade iReady highest growth prize winners- Claire Hale and Elyse Moton!

Our teachers are playing Secret Santa this week. To help keep the gift giver's name a secret, we have some very helpful elves from Ms. Davis' class delivering the gifts!

It's shout-out FriYay!

Congrats to 5th grader, Trinity Cole, on winning the Chili Fest pageant last night! You go girl!

3rd grade will be spreading Christmas cheer next week!

The Gingerbread Man is loose at USJ! After reading the book "The Gingerbread Man Loose at Christmas" several fourth and fifth grade classes went on missions to find the Gingerbread Man at USJ! They used the app Goose Chase to document their missions with photo evidence! Sadly, the mischievous Gingerbread man was found at the Principals office !

First shout-outs of December!!

Today the Alabama Power Foundation awarded Mrs. Helms' science classes a grant to continue the creation and maintenance of our school garden. This garden will provide an extension to their classroom learning. #thedemopolisdifference
