Due to the forecast of rain from Hurricane Francine, the DHS Homecoming Parade and Bonfire scheduled for Thursday, September 12, 2024, has been cancelled.
The game is still on for Friday night! We would love for everyone to come out and support the Tigers! Thank you for understanding!
Go Tigers!

Our Grandparents' Day lunches are being held next week. Order forms for meal tickets were sent home last week. Please return those forms with money by this Friday to make your lunch reservations! Ask your 4th or 5th grader which teacher takes them to lunch. They do not go to lunch with their homeroom teacher. Do not forget to visit the photo booth. Order forms for that will be sent home soon. They will give that to us when they come for their picture. Please do not send photo money before then!

Students in 4th grade are learning about The Human Body System in Science class. Mrs. Sims took her students outside to get some fresh air while completing a Human Body Systems scavenger hunt.

Our students have been enjoying number sense routines! Thank you to our local AMSTI specialist, Mrs. Byrd & our Math Coach, Mrs. Pittman for modeling this engaging number sense routine in classrooms this week. #OMIbetterTogether #alabamaachieves #amsti4all

Mark your calendars with these important dates!

Congrats to these students who received our first shout-outs of the year! Each week teachers send in shout-outs to recognize students for being awesome! Your student can earn shout-outs for helping teachers and friends and doing other random acts of kindness! Principal Fleming gives these students a small token of appreciation! 🌞

Mark your calendars for picture day!!! The 4th grade classes are split between 2 days so pay close attention to the homeroom teacher's names!

DCS Families,
Don't forget students at all four schools receive free breakfast and lunches through the Community Eligibility Program under the National School Lunch Program and/or School Breakfast Program! Children need healthy meals to learn. CEP gives food service professionals more time to focus on preparing nutritious meals that their students will enjoy and gives students more time to eat those meals by cutting down on time spent in the lunch line. More importantly, by offering all students a nutritious breakfast and lunch at no cost, CEP helps ensure more students come to class well-nourished and ready to learn.
Demopolis City Schools offers healthy meals every school day, so please encourage students to participate.

Happening today! Our community goes above and beyond to support our students! Thank you!
