Mr. Brooker is teaching a Black History Month inspired art lessons to our 4th grade classes. They are learning about the artist Bill Traylor. He was an African American, self taught artist, from Lowndes county Alabama. He spent the majority of his life as a share cropper. It was only after 1939, following his move to Montgomery that he began to draw.

It’s fraction February at USJ and all of our 4th and 5th grade math teachers were observed during their small group time. The students were so engaged receiving Focused Math during tier 2.

Mrs. Helms' class, with the help from Ms. Hughes' gifted students, participated in a "mystery meeting" zoom with a class from another state. They had to guess where those students were located based on clues. They also gave the other class clues about Demopolis!
