🎉 Westside on Wheels – Rolling Into May! 🛴🚴♀️🛼
Date: Monday, May 5th
Who: All students during PE
Where: Westside Elementary Gym & Parking Lot
Get ready for Westside on Wheels — a fun day where students can bring their bikes, scooters, or skates to use during their PE time!
🛠️ Important Info for Families:
Bring Your Wheels: Students can bring their wheels from home (bike, scooter, or skates) and will walk them to the gym to check in. Wheels will be tagged with names and stored safely in class-designated “parking lots” inside the gym. Please no electric scooters, bikes, or hoverboards.
Extra Wheels for Others: Have an extra set of wheels? Bring them on Friday, May 2nd and check them in with Coach Oates for other students to borrow.
Waivers Required: Every student needs a signed waiver, whether bringing their own wheels or borrowing. Fairhaven Church is generously providing skates for those without wheels.
🚗 Drop-off, Carline & Dismissal Help:
We’re partnering with high school athletes to:
Assist with unloading and delivering wheels to the gym in the morning.
Help at carline and dismissal by retrieving and loading students' wheels.
To streamline the process:
Early Wheel Drop-off: Available Friday afternoon from 3:00-4:00 PM to reduce Monday morning chaos.
Late Pick-up Option: Parents can collect students’ wheels from 3–4 PM on Monday
🚦 Safety First!
Students will only ride their wheels during PE time, in the blocked-off parking lot outside the gym.
📝 Make sure your child has returned their waiver.
Let’s roll into May with fun and safety! 🎈
Questions may be directed to Coach Oates at hoates@dcsedu.com

We have a limited amount of yearbooks available if you did not purchase one before the deadline. Cost is $35.

Happy Principals' Day! We are so glad you are a part of "Team Westside"!

REMINDER
Westside on Wheels day has been moved to Monday, May 5th, due to the threat of rain on Friday. You may bring your wheels to WES Friday between 3:00-4:00 if you would like to drop them off early.
