Demopolis City Schools will be closed Monday, Sept 1 in observance of Labor Day. Tuesday, Sept. 2 will be a Professional Development Day for Faculty and Staff. Students will not report to school until Wednesday, Sept. 3. Have a wonderful extended weekend!
Mrs. Stewart's and Mrs. Alston’s 2nd-grade classes have been learning all about matter—solids, liquids, and gases. Today, they put their knowledge to the test with a delicious science experiment: Coke floats! 🥤🍦
The students observed how ice cream (a solid) interacts with soda (a liquid) to create bubbly carbon dioxide (a gas). They were excited to see science in action—AND even more excited to enjoy a tasty treat while exploring how matter can change and interact.
Nothing makes learning stick quite like hands-on (and sweet) experiments! 💡✨
