After spending the week learning all about families, Mrs. Stokes’ Pre-K class had a special treat today! Ms. Erma Banks visited to read her book Fruit Cocktail and even brought fruit cocktail for everyone to enjoy. 🍓🍑🍍

After wrapping up their Human Body Unit, our first graders scrubbed in and stepped into the “operating room” today! Dressed as young surgeons, they rotated through a variety of hands-on stations that combined learning with a little medical fun. Students mended “broken bone” CVC words, performed beginning sound heart surgery, examined letter X-rays, and carried out sight word operations. Math skills were also put to the test as they completed number bond surgeries, organized a ten-frame supply inventory, sequenced numbers in order, and pieced together body system puzzles. It was a day full of curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking—our little doctors-in-training were hard at work!

🇺🇸 Mrs. Cook’s kindergarten class learned about 2D shapes while creating American flags in remembrance of September 11th. ❤️🤍💙 As they talked about community helpers, the students were excited to thank Officer Marshall in person for her service! 👮♀️✨

Ms. Gandy and Mrs. Stewart’s 2nd Grade Class
As part of their science unit on the states of matter, students took part in a hands-on experiment to explore how a liquid can transform into a solid. Using just a few simple ingredients, students made ice cream and observed the freezing process in action—turning science into a fun (and delicious) experience! 🍦🧊🍨

Recognizing our Leaders of the Week is one of our favorite things! These students make us proud by leading through their example.

Today was filled with smiles and love as WES 1st graders celebrated their grandparents.

Partner reading practice is underway in Mrs. Black’s first grade classroom.

Please be mindful not to block neighborhood driveways during drop-off and pick-up times.

Mrs. Stewart’s class has been learning about Ancient Chinese civilizations. They learned about their early writing systems and how characters were carved into stone and other hard surfaces to record words. To bring history to life, students practiced writing their own names using characters and shaping play-doh to represent the stone used long ago.
