Ms. Gandy and Mrs. Stewart’s 2nd Grade Class
As part of their science unit on the states of matter, students took part in a hands-on experiment to explore how a liquid can transform into a solid. Using just a few simple ingredients, students made ice cream and observed the freezing process in action—turning science into a fun (and delicious) experience! 🍦🧊🍨

Recognizing our Leaders of the Week is one of our favorite things! These students make us proud by leading through their example.

Today was filled with smiles and love as WES 1st graders celebrated their grandparents.

Partner reading practice is underway in Mrs. Black’s first grade classroom.

Please be mindful not to block neighborhood driveways during drop-off and pick-up times.

Mrs. Stewart’s class has been learning about Ancient Chinese civilizations. They learned about their early writing systems and how characters were carved into stone and other hard surfaces to record words. To bring history to life, students practiced writing their own names using characters and shaping play-doh to represent the stone used long ago.

This week’s theme in Ms. Bryant’s class is All About Me and My Family. Today we celebrated Yellow Day! Each child brought a favorite snack to share, and together they enjoyed a colorful feast. As they ate, students explained why their snack was special to them. It was a day filled with sunshine, smiles, and sweet fun! 🌼🍪🍩

Way to go, Leaders of the Week!

Notes about the Book Fair and Grandparents’ Day Lunch are being sent home today. Lunch tickets for visitors will be available in the lobby for $6 each (cash only). We look forward to seeing you there!

Health Heroes Flu Clinic is tomorrow, Sept. 4 at all four schools. The consent must be turned into their school nurse prior to the clinic. This is an optional clinic, and they can get their flu shot at their doctor or elsewhere if they so choose. Forms went home with students 8/27.

We are grateful to our WES families who joined us at Donuts & Data and made it a wonderful time of shared learning.

We can't wait to see everyone tomorrow at Donuts and Data!
