Parents and guardians, before school starts we want to remind you that every absence from school must be supported with the appropriate documentation.
If a student accumulates five (5) or more unexcused absences, the Alabama Early Warning Truancy Process will begin. This mandatory process includes:
✅ Completing the online Early Warning Truancy Presentation
✅ Submitting the required verification form
✅ Possible Juvenile Court intervention if the required process is not completed
Please help your child avoid unnecessary consequences by:
📌 Sending a written excuse or approved documentation for every absence.
📌 Turning in excuses within the required timeframe.
📌 Communicating with your child's school if you have questions about attendance.
Regular attendance is essential for student success, and we appreciate your partnership in helping every student be present and ready to learn each day.

Did you know that school behavior can affect when your student is eligible to receive a learner's permit or driver's license?
Taylor's Law is an Alabama law that connects school discipline with driving privileges. Beginning at age 13, certain disciplinary actions can result in points that may delay a student's ability to obtain a permit or driver's license.
We encourage all students to:

Alabama's back-to-school tax-free weekend runs from 12:01 a.m. Friday, July 17, 2026, through midnight Sunday, July 19, 2026. During this weekend, the state eliminates its 4% sales tax on eligible items up to specific price limits .
