Mrs. Gandy's Computer Science Python coding classes embarked on a thrilling journey to the Mercedes-Benz facility in Vance, Alabama. This trip was organized by Brandi Dannelly, our Career Coach at Demopolis High School.
Students were able to dive deep into the world of automotive technology, with a special focus on electric cars and programming, as well as the fascinating integration of robotics within the facility. Our students were captivated as they observed the production process of Mercedes vehicles, gaining valuable insights into the complexities of electric car technology and the vital role of coding in their functionality.
But that's not all! The tour also shed light on exciting internship opportunities available for our students, providing them with a glimpse into potential career pathways in the automotive industry.
This industry tour was a perfect way to celebrate Career Tech Month, highlighting the intersection of technology and industry while reinforcing the relevance of coding skills in real-world applications.
Huge thanks to Brandy Snipes, the Technical Program Management Specialist at Mercedes, as well as our fabulous tour guides for orchestrating this enriching experience and opening their doors to our students!

Students from Mr. Duran's APUSH class receiving their reward for scoring a 3 or above on the 2023 APUSH exam. An incredible feat, considering only 47% of students who took the exam received a score of 3 or higher on the 2023 administration.

Softball Schedule 2023-2024

Look for scoliosis forms coming home soon. Forms will need to be signed in order for a student to be checked. This is very important and a FREE service the school provides. We have also included some information for preventative measures since most students in our system use backpacks. Improper usage could lead to back issues in the future. Check them out and have a conversation with your students about how to properly wear a backpack and to not overfill them.
