Hello, DMS Family!
As we gear up for the 2025–2026 school year, we’ll be sharing lots of important updates, so please encourage anyone you know with a student at DMS to follow Demopolis Middle School on Facebook to stay informed.
Today’s update is about snacks and drinks at school:
Snack Machines: Students are welcome to use the snack machines, but snacks must be purchased before school starts each day.
No Outside Fast Food or To-Go Drinks: Students may not bring in fast food or drinks in to-go cups (from restaurants, gas stations, etc.).
Water Bottles Only: This year, cups such as Stanleys and similar containers will not be allowed. Students may bring only clear water bottles or clear plastic bottles with a secure, closable lid.
No Snacking in Hallways: Snacks should not be eaten while walking through the halls, as this creates additional cleanup for our custodial team.
We appreciate your understanding and support as we work together to create a safe, clean, and positive environment for everyone. Let’s make this a great year at DMS!

Parents and Guardians,
The State of Alabama school systems are moving towards a fully online system for school forms and registration. Many school districts across the state have already made this transition, and Demopolis City Schools is now taking this step as well.
We understand that this change may feel overwhelming at first—it’s new for us, too! However, we want to reassure you that after this first year, the process will become much easier. In the future, you’ll only need to update a few pieces of information each year rather than upload everything again.
As we work together through this new system, we appreciate your patience and understanding. We are learning the process alongside you and are committed to improving the experience for everyone.
📌 To complete registration, please be sure to upload the following required documents:
A current mortgage or lease agreement
A current power bill from Alabama Power or Black Warrior Electric
A copy of your child’s birth certificate
A copy of your child’s immunization records (blue form)
*You need your child's snap code to complete registration; this was mailed earlier in the summer. If, however, you do not have the code, you are welcome to come by the school between 8:00 and 3:00, and we will gladly give you the code.
Thank you for your support and cooperation as we move forward with this statewide initiative. If you need help, please don't hesitate to contact us—we’re here to support you!

Upcoming 6th graders are required to get the Tdap vaccination. Please bring an updated vaccination card or proof of exemption (medical or religious) to the 6th grade schedule pick up. If your 6th grader has yet to receive the vaccination, please bring proof of appointment scheduled. Without proof your student's schedule will be held.

For anyone who needs help with online registration or needs access to technology, please check our social media pages daily for important information. In the meantime, to complete registration from home, check out the school system website for helpful links!

Report cards will not be ready until next week. We will post days and times that they can be picked up.

Students eat free this summer! Check out the times and locations that your child can grab breakfast or lunch this summer provided by The Alabama State Department of Education and the USDA.

The lockdown at Demopolis Middle School that just occurred was a false alarm. A sensor was pushed accidentally while preparing rooms for the summer.
There is NO EMERGENCY at Demopolis Middle School.

DCS Families,
The phones at each school location are working again. Thank you for your patience.

DCS Families,
The phone systems are down at each school at this time. If you need to contact the school, please send an email to the principal and they will contact you as soon as possible. We will notify you when the phones are working again.
