All schools will be closed. Students should have received assignments (packets for elementary and online for secondary) Friday.
Administration will monitor the road conditions for Wednesday and will communicate through text/phone/social media if any closure is needed for Jan. 22.

Monday, January 20 , DCS will observe the Martin Luther King Jr holiday. All campuses and offices will be closed. Students will return to school Tuesday, January 21.
The DCS administration is monitoring the weather closely for Tuesday and Wednesday. Families will be notified via social media, text, and phone for any closure announcements Monday.
The flu is here and going around! Please make sure students with a 100 fever or higher are kept at home to help stop the spread of the virus. Also, remind your students to cover coughs/ sneezes and wash their hands.

There is a possibility of winter weather across West Alabama Friday. DCS administrators are keeping a close watch on weather forecasts with constant updates from the national weather service and Marengo County EMA. We expect to announce a decision before school dismisses today on whether there will be any delays or closures Friday. Student and staff safety is always a top priority.
School closure announcements will be made via social media, calls, and texts. Please stay weather aware.
Tendremos un partido de baloncesto en la escuela el jueves a las 12:30. Esto es solo para estudiantes y el costo es de $5. El dinero debe entregarse al maestro del primer período de su estudiante. Recordatorio de la bolsa Yondr

Las camisas no pueden estar atadas para exponer la espalda o el abdomen.

Fall Fest 2024 was a huge success!! Thank you to our faculty, staff, Plaza Golf Carts, Jeff McAfee, and the Fall Fest Committee. What a way to begin our Thanksgiving break!
Demopolis City Schools will be closed Monday, November 11 for the observance of Veterans Day. Faculty and students will return to school Tuesday, November 12.
Tomorrow, November 5, 2024, please vote YES for the Demopolis City Schools - 5 mill tax renewal. Note: This is NOT a new tax. Demopolis has been paying this one for 30 years and it has to be voted on to be renewed for another 30 years.
This tax provides approximately $1,000,000.00 per year for the DCS school system. Many of the athletics' expenses (maintenance, fields, some coaching stipends, etc), as well as facilities (all buildings) maintenance are provided through this tax since the State Department of Education does not allocate those type expenses. It also provides funds to help pay for teachers that are not funded by state allocations.
Please share this information with your family, friends, neighbors, churches, groups, etc. We NEED this 5 mill tax to be renewed.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to share how proud I am of our students following Thursday’s Love Like Lexi assembly. Their behavior was exemplary, and they demonstrated respect and attentiveness. For lack of a better phrase, you could have heard a pin drop in the gym throughout the assembly.
Our students represented our school community with pride and set a positive example for each other. It’s clear that the values we strive to teach daily are being embraced, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with their maturity and conduct.
Thank you for your continued support in helping us nurture such wonderful students. It truly takes a team effort, and we appreciate the role you play in encouraging these positive behaviors at school.

Su comportamiento fue ejemplar y demostraron respeto y atención. A falta de una frase mejor, se podría haber escuchado caer un alfiler en el gimnasio durante toda la asamblea.
Nuestros estudiantes representaron a nuestra comunidad escolar con orgullo y dieron un ejemplo positivo unos para otros. Está claro que se están adoptando los valores que nos esforzamos por enseñar a diario y no podría estar más emocionado con su madurez y conducta.

We are so proud of our DMS football team, coaches, cheerleaders, majorettes, and water girls. It was an awesome season! Thank you to everyone who came out last night to support the tigers. You looked amazing in your pink! We would like to give a special shout-out to TJ the Tiger for providing the pink shakers and tattoos--thanks, TJ!
The eighth grade cheerleaders would also like to thank the cheerleaders and coaches for providing a sweet treat as part of 8th grade recognition. Thank you, ladies! We love and appreciate you!
Finally, thank you, Kim Easley-Bell, for all you did behind the scenes to help make our season a success. There are not enough words to express our gratitude.

Fall Break is almost here! Friday, October 11, teachers will be on campus for Data Day. Students will NOT report to school Friday. Students will return to school Wednesday, October 16. This is a great time to wash and disinfect backpacks and lunchboxes to keep the germs away! Enjoy this time with your family!
