Second grade has been studying Ancient Greece and its contributions! Mrs. Alston and Miss Beshears had an Olympic Game competition! Mrs. Alston’s class came out on top, but all students showed great sportsmanship and determination! They all had fun!

This week’s “leader of the week” is Jeron Boykins from Mrs. Basinger’s 2nd grade class. Jeron has been making good choices and being kind to others. We are proud of leaders like Jeron at WES.

Mrs. Basinger, Mrs. Reynolds, and Mrs. Thomasson’s 2nd grade classes enjoyed taking part in Olympic Games after their Ancient Greek Civilization unit!

Mrs. Martin’s class used spooky pretzels to complete their math lesson for today. They had to sort their pretzels, count and write the number of pumpkins and bats in their bag, and compare the sets. Almost everyone had more bats than pumpkins! Math is so much fun with a yummy snack!

Students in Mrs. Thomasson’s 2nd grade class finished up their review of Greek Civilizations by making Olive Wreaths and trying olives. Other 2nd graders also joined in on trying olives. 🫒

Ms. Gandy’s pre-k students have been learning the letter “Ii” this week!
Students practiced making the letters with play dough!

You get another chance to complete our survey!
Your opinion matters. But we cannot know what everyone wants for DCS if we do not hear from you. We have over 500 surveys competed but want to make sure that all stakeholders have one last opportunity to give us feedback. We need to hear from everyone in the community with a desire to help make DCS even better. Please take 3-5 minutes and answer these 7 questions. That is all. If you have already completed one then thank you for your time!
