October is Dyslexia Awareness Month which is also represented by the color red. Today our staff wants to bring awareness to Dyslexia and emphasize our desire to provide our students with successful reading instruction in the following areas: Comprehension, Fluency, Vocabulary, Phonics and Phonemic Awareness. Mrs. Martin’s class had another spooky math lesson today! After reading Ten Timid Ghosts, they created haunted houses with ghosts. To put ghosts on their house, they had to roll a dice and tell a number greater or less than their roll.

Mrs. Stewart’s class has been learning about the ancient civilization or Mesopotamia. Today, they talked about how the Mesopotamians used tablets made of clay to write in cuneiform. They used play-doh to make their tablets and wrote their names in cuneiform like the Mesopotamians.
